What an entertaining and educational time we had at the NED Show. Our presenter, Nate, took the children on an adventure to help “a new student” find his growth mindset when starting at school. Developing a positive mindset to learning links in beautifully with our school’s visible learning journey. Prior to the show we launched our visible learning journey with the students, so the NED show was a fantastic reinforcer of what is needed to be a good learner.
We showed perseverance in climbing the highest mountain in the world (Never give up), we gave each other courage to dig deeper on the treasure island (Encourage others) and persisted to help an alien fix this rocket (Do your best). The story was told using yo yo tricks along with some pretty cool magic tricks. We will be using the NED principles as part of our whole school focus on helping students to develop these necessary skills to have appositive learning attitude. the students have been practising their skills with the yo yos, which give them the chance to Never Give Up, Encourage Others and Do Your Best!
