Hello and welcome,
Tinonee Public School has a school band program comprising saxaphones, clarinets, trumpets, percussion, drums, and trombone. Band rehearsal takes place each Wednesday morning between 8:45am - 9:45am in the school hall under the tuition of band master Roger Griffiths.
New members from year 3 and above are always welcome to join. The band program enables students to hire musical instruments to facilitate their learning of music without a costly outlay. We have a rental/purchase plan for instruments available. Weekly, each student then attends group band rehearsal together with a 30 minute tutorial to learn and improve their skills. The cost for tuition is $22.00 per term, very minimal as compared to the same with a private music teacher.
The learning of music is a wonderful opportunity and so complimentary to any student's education. The social environment of the band is an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all involved and a great platform for the future learning of music in the secondary school.
The Tinonee Public School Band performs each term for our school assembly together with performances both within our local Tinonee Community and the wider Manning region and at the eisteddfod level.
Anyone interesed in joining our band should contact the school office for details. No prior knowledge of reading music or playing an instrument is nessecary. Anyone who may already own or can borrow an instrument are welcome to join the band.
